Our company’s eco-ethical thinking and distillery sourcing just got another inspiration from the work and lecture of Robert Bateman- Canadas top natural artist and naturalist. On September 4th 2007, Robert Batemen presented a lecture for Foresters and Naturalists as part of the Centennial celebration for the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Toronto.
Thinking like a Mountain involves focus on human prosperity in line with the welfare of other species on Earth. We as part of the natural cycle should direct our activities to learning more about other species and how to do our work in a sustainable manner with the mind on our grandchildren experiencing the same level of natural abundance as we enjoy today. Irresponsible and greedy behaviors and ill-management of natural resources lead to a disappearance of many otherwise prosperous species. Just as Robert Bateman uses his drawings to initiate change, Plant Power is contributing to conserving species by choosing growers and distillers who practice sustainable development. We are collaborating with the small and medium size enterprises that have their own plantations or that are replanting the plants they collect from the wilderness. We are bringing rare essential oils for the opportunity to introduce as many aromatic species as we can presently cope with. Our mission is to increase knowledge and awareness of the benefits of existing medicinal and aromatic plants all over the world as well as working on their protection and conservation. Through these effort we hope to encourage people to think like a mountains and chose products that benefit not just themselves, but the entire planet.
